For broadcast recording, the VIDEE OBX boasts top-of-the-range Sony HDC-4300 cameras, the only one with a native 4K sensor and digital cinema initiative, unsurpassed for its colorimetry (BT.2020) and reaching all of the HDR curves.
OBX stands out for its Sony HDC-4800 HFR cameras. Equipped with a Super 35mm sensor with global shutter, the system creates a cinematic effect and offers extreme performance for high frequency shooting: full-resolution up to 8x in 4K and UHD and up to 16x in HD. Featuring the Flicker Resolution, the HDC-4800 is fitted for PL and B4 lenses.

It has two independent and perfectly interfaced production areas: a main one for Host Broadcasting services and a secondary one for unilateral production services. For high-level events, VIDEE OBX allows you to work in a single huge space, entirely at the customer’s disposal. It is engineered with automation management, indirect RGB LED lighting system and customisable air conditioning, featuring activated carbon filter and ioniser for full and constant air purification.

PERFECTLY INTEGRATED SONY HDC-4300 and SONY HDC-4800 CAMERAS

In addition to the HDC-4300 and HDC-4800 cameras, the VIDEE OBX is also equipped with Sony HDC-3500 4K HDR wireless cameras with global shutter and the Vislink HCAM transmitter systems in 4K.
For special recordings with rigs, tripods, arms and jimmy jibs, OBX is also equipped with ultra-light Sony HDC-P50s system cameras, which maintain a level of quality that can be fully integrated with the HDC-4300 live production cameras.

SONY XVS 8000 VIDEO SWITCHER

160 INPUTS, 40 OUTPUTS AND 10 EFFECT BANKS

The XVS 8000 video switcher has 160 inputs with format converters and 40 assignable HD outputs, up to ten effect banks with internal frame memory. The XVS 8000 technology allows you to activate the “M/E sharing” function, thanks to which resources can be allocated to the different production areas. OBX is equipped with two control panels: the first has four effect banks for Production 1, the second has two effect banks for Production 2.

The VIDEE OBX has a Riedel Artist-1024 intercom matrix configured in a simple and intuitive way within the powerful software environment, Director. Artist-1024 introduces a range of technical innovations centred around the software-definable Universal Interface Card (UIC).

THE RIEDEL BOLERO REDEFINES WIRELESS INTERCOM

The Bolero wireless system supports 10 beltpacks per antenna, for up to 100 antennas, offering many relevant features. Perfectly integrated to Artist and running over IP via the AES67 standard, it provides a fully integrated point-to-point intercom ecosystem.

The Production 1 audio mixer
The Videe OBX - 4K HDR OB VAN has adopted Artemis. The Calrec system has 64 faders, each with two channels (A and B) and 12 levels, redundant hardware for all systems and independent DSP modules, to guarantee full audio continuity in all circumstances. Usable both via a Hydra2 interface (512x512 channels I/O) and IP, it is equipped with an intuitive and ergonomic control surface, with built-in colour and touch controls.

Brio36 is the mixer installed in the Videe OBX 4K HDR Production 2 area. It is easily configurable and compact. Artemis integrates Brio36 through the Hydra2 protocol.

OB VAN WITH IMAGINE PLATINUM IP3 28 RU A/V MATRIX

INNOVATIVE FEATURES AND IP CONNECTIVITY

The heart of VIDEE OBX - 4K HDR OB VAN is the Imagine Platinum IP3 matrix, which adds hybrid IP connectivity to the router functions. The IP3 28 RU router integrates a/v mixed-format routing and multiviewer functionality, mux/demux, frame sync and advanced I/O options such as MADI and fiber – all within a single frame. Platinum IP3, which relies on the H.I. automation system in the VIDEE OBX 4K HDR OB van, can handle up to 576x1024 mixed A/V signal routing, with 14 multiviews and 256 mux/168 demux.

THE OBX - 4K HDR OB VAN PROJECT TEAM

OBX has been future driven engineered and created by Videe R&D department and the system integrator Chromaline, known for its proven experience in the field. Chromaline was responsible for the final conceptual design, managing the work, the electrical system, and the audio, video, fiber and networking wiring in line with the Videe project. With the VIDEE OBX, Chromaline has perfected its skills and reached new heights.

We put the maximum attention to each and every aspect of the project and found highly innovative construction solutions with the aim at answering the needs of the operating and creative crew on board in order to maximize their performance and their comfort. OBX offers automation management, an indirect RGB led lighting system – which follows the natural sunlight colour temperature, a fully customizable air conditioning and an each 30 mins air circulation system. OBX is unique in its genre and can accommodate up to 36 people at the same time.
